Proskills Global Supports UNDP in Vietnam

Proskills Global Supports UNDP in Vietnam

Ian Aspley and Andy Rotherham recently travelled to Vietnam on behalf of Proskills Global Limited to deliver training on the Production Technology of Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) Blocks for a United Nations Development Programme.

The programme consisted of a two-day workshop aimed at Managers, Technical and Production Staff in AAC factories. Two workshops were delivered, one in Hanoi at the Vietnam Institute of Building Materials and one in Ho Chi Minh at the HASS AAC plant in Hung Khang.

This training is just the start of a push from the Vietnam Ministry of Science and Technology to try to increase the use of AAC in Vietnam over traditional Clay (Fired) Brick.

AAC has both environmental and production benefits over “traditional” brick, in that the method of production requires less energy and the speed of construction and ease of handling is vastly improved.

Ian and Andy found that there was a great deal of enthusiasm at the workshops and a real thirst for knowledge, concerning both improvement in quality and technical education of constructors and suppliers.

Proskills Global Limited looks forward to its return to this sector, to help them move forward with an ambitious programme to increase the use of AAC in Vietnam.
